Served as a gunner in Lancaster bombers during World War II.
Started racing a Jaguar SS100 on the circuits in 1949, and progressed to other classes, including F1 Grand Prix. Made what's believed to be a one-off appearance at Harringay on 29th October 1954 and won a heat.
