2016 Awards

Driver of the Year

As last year, it's all change again! Not a single driver from last years top three gets anywhere the podium this time around. This years winners are....

1st 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr

2nd 445 Nigel Green

3rd 318 Rob Speak

Rounding off his fantastic season, Frankie takes the title with what is probably a record 8 DotD wins over the year - congratulations and a massive well done to Team Wainman. Who would have predicted that Nigel would make such an impact in his first full season, coming oh so close to taking the Silver roof, were it not for the skill and cunning of Rob 318, who is just edged into third spot here by Nigel.

Track of the Year

(Position/Last year/Track/Average Score for all qualifying meetings)

1st - (1) Kings Lynn - 8.12

2nd - (5) Skegness - 8.07

3rd - (4) Belle Vue - 8.02

4th - (3) Coventry - 8.02

5th - (-) Birmingham - 7.52

Kings Lynn retains the title! Congratulations and well done to all the team at the Adrian Flux Arena, for giving us another fantastic year of top quality racing. Well done also to the Skegness team, jumping from 5th to 2nd spot - no doubt the new Promoter will be aiming to go one better in 2017. So close were the scores of Belle Vue and Coventry, that we had to resort to an extra decimal point to settle third spot! Birmingham comes back into the top 5 at the expense of Northampton.

If ever there were one meeting that was "nailed on" for the MofY it just had to be the meeting that most who were there still refer to as simply "that meeting" - the extraordinary June Coventry session. Thank you and well done to all who contributed to a fantastic event, which also becomes the highest scoring meeting ever, in the history of the Stoxnet Awards. The KL team will be a tad disappointed to miss top spot with the excellent October meeting, but no doubt they will be aiming to take top spot again in 2017.

Again, thanks to everyone who joined in - hope you'll be back for more in a few months time. If you'd like to compare the latest results with prior years, just click on the Stoxnet Awards tab at the top of the page, and all will be revealed.
