Stoxnet's Driver of the Day started in 2006 and is your chance to acknowledge a great display of driving skill from each meeting.
For the 2007 Driver of the Year overall results and the meeting-by-meeting voting, please see the 2007 Stoxnet Awards pages.
Introduction to Stoxnet F1 Driver of the Day by forum member Chris53:
Based upon an idea from forum member LER, the Stoxnet Driver of the Day vote after each F1 meeting gives you a chance to show your appreciation for a great performance by one driver, who, for whatever reason, stole the show for you. Voting is open to all Stoxnet members.
Below are the simple rules for voting in, and running, the DotD. Anyone can kick it off...So, if you're the first one home after a meeting, just start a new thread entitled 'Stoxnet Driver of the Day – Venue + Meeting Date', and anyone who was there can get voting....
The only slight change from the way the DotD ran last year is that each meeting will have a winner or winners – if there is a tied vote, then those tied become joint winners.
For new forum members joining in for the first time, the most important thing to remember is one vote per member per meeting
DOD Rules
- Simple vote for one F1 driver per meeting. Most votes win that meeting. Tied vote, then joint winners of equal status to an individual winner.
- All votes in by Thursday midnight for previous week's meetings.
- Any votes for more than one driver are not counted – so if you think it should be shared between XXX and YYY, then note that neither gets a vote. One vote, per member, per meeting, posted in the DotD thread for that meeting, is the only vote that counts.
- Minimum of 10 votes in total to be cast before a "Winner" can be declared.
- Anyone can count up the votes after Thursday and add a simple final post to that thread naming the winner. The thread will then be closed to stop late voters making the count look wrong.
- All Meeting winners will be added to the Stoxnet Driver of the Day page found under the Tracks and Fixtures link at the top of the page.
- End of year winner is the driver who wins most meetings outright. No counting numbers of votes, just a simple "Most Meetings Won”. If there is an end of year tie, then whoever of those tied had the latest individual vote win is the overall winner
Please note this is F1 Driver of the Day. If anyone wants to do something similar for F2 etc on another forum, feel free to copy some/all of the above Rules.
