Stoxnet is free to use for all BriSCA F1 fans. It is advert-free. Your email address will never be passed on to advertisers, spammers or mailing lists, and it is used only for forum communications.
Bad language
Stoxnet has a family audience; both children and adults alike enjoy its friendly content. Swearing, bad language and threatening language is therefore not permitted. If you see an offensive word or message, please click the "Report" button beside it.
Off topic messages
Stoxnet is an increasingly busy forum, and to make it easier to 'sort the wheat from the chaff', everyone needs to work together to keep the forum actively on-topic and discussing BriSCA F1 racing and surrounding topics. Off-topic chat should ideally be confined to personal blogs (everyone can create one - the help page tells you how), to "PMs" (personal messages), private email or Instant Messenger programs like Yahoo or MSN Messenger. Keeping the forum on-topic is important because often good points and great discussion is otherwise swamped by personal conversations between just a few people
dnt use txt msg speek pls
When typing messages, please try to consider those who will be reading your words – plain English is easier to read than “txt language”. We have several very active forum members from Holland – English is not their first language so please take a few seconds extra over your messages and use ‘real’ words rather than ‘txt’ abbreviations. No-one’s spelling is perfect and typos will always happen, but a carefully typed message is much easier to read than a rushed txt msg language one. Most people struggle to decipher txt msg words and sentences, even where English is their first language.
Family audience
Many members of the forum are respected members of the stox scene - not just race fans, but also official photographers, magazine columnists, promoters, mechanics, team members and of course drivers themselves. Even more of the members of the forum are dedicated BriSCA F1 fans, and have been watching racing around Britain and Europe's ovals for most of their lives. Just as on the terraces, everyone is friendly and respectful to everyone else: please keep this in the back of your mind when posting your messages - an 8yr old fan is just as likely to read your message as a dedicated 55yr old who has been watching since he was 8.
Registering your username
When registering with Stoxnet, please do not register a username such as "Anonymous" in order to make one single sensational, anonymous, undercover or cryptic posting. Stoxnet is free and open, and 'undercover' posts will not be tolerated. If you're not happy with people knowing who you are and what you have said, do not post it.
Avoiding Anonymity
Everyone using Stoxnet is encouraged to 'reveal themselves' - beside every message is a short line about the author's connection with BriSCA F1. You can see everyone's connection here, and you can modify your own entry in your Profile page.
Stoxnet galleries
Stoxnet has a free gallery of photographs and videos. These files are uploaded by members of the forum and they own the copyright. Do not steal others' copyrighted material. If you upload photographs or videos to your own or the public galleries, please ensure you have the copyright holder's permission.
Forum signatures
Your forum signature can be up to 160 characters long (including the 'code' used to make bold/italic/coloured text). Please help to keep the flow of conversation and discussion in the forum by keeping your signature as discreet as possible - don't use large text, spread your signature over more than a couple of lines, or use any images in your signature. By all means link to your own personal or stockcar website, favourite website, or photo gallery - but please help to keep Stoxnet free of adverts by not advertising commercial websites.
Advertising
If you have products or services for sale (or would like to place a 'Wanted' advert), please post your messages in the 'For Sale & Wanted' section, leaving 'Brisca Chatter' for chat and discussion.
Email Address
When opening your forum account you will need an email address. You must keep your forum account up to date with your current address should you ever change it. Your account may be closed if you do not.
