Stoxnet is an independent BriSCA F1 fans' community

Stoxnet is the place for lively discussion about BriSCA F1s, is the home of the most extensive online collection of F1 photos, features lists of major Championship winners, a full 2007 fixture list (with all support formula listed), a vibrant links page to explore, and our own 'Stoxnet Driver of the Day' award - all availabe without intrustive advertising from this fast, reliable and friendly website.

Stoxnet was started in December 2002 by the site administrator Daniel O'Neill as a parallel project alongside an F1 fans’ forum he jointly administered on the Opposite Lock website.  Stoxnet was originally to be a ‘Reuters-like’ newswire service to collate and distribute stock car news and results to the growing number of fan and driver websites from one central hub using RSS feeds

The original plan was not successful – time and resources were limited and RSS at the time underused.  Now that, four years later, RSS news readers and aggregators are more commonly supported, a similar effort would likely be much more successful. Instead, BriSCA F1 feeds transponder data to the MyLaps website which in turn publishes its data on Stoxnet via its own RSS feeds. The Stoxnet forum and blogs feature RSS feeds which automatically ensure that the homepage is always up to date.

Meanwhile, as Daniel and Opposite Lock parted company in June 2003, an early version of Stoxnet as it is known now was launched. Initially as a standalone forum, and soon after as a forum with a growing album of fans’ photos, the Stoxnet community has grown and grown to become the place for BriSCA F1 fans to discuss their sport online.

Stoxnet members have uploaded over 15,000 photos to the galleries, documenting every F1 meeting since 2004 and every decade of the sport’s rich history before that.  With the gallery and vibrant forum combined, the Stoxnet website receives well over a million pageviews every month.

Stoxnet members vote and maintain their own 'Stoxnet Driver of the Day', voting after each weekend's racing for the driver who they think had the best meeting. The site also lists comprehensive historical archive data of all major championships and features the most comprehensive BriSCA F1 fixture list available – with all support formula and start times indexed and updated whenever promoters release new information.

Stoxnet also offers BriSCA F1 drivers the opportunity to have their own website, with 307 Tim Warwick, 212 Frankie Wainman Snr, 218 Derek Fairhurst and 278 Mike Ashcroft already having sites online for 2007.

Stoxnet is not connected with either BriSCA or BSCDA, though members of both organisations are active members of the forum. Stoxnet receives no funding from either organisation and does not accept or tolerate commercial advertising of any kind. The website is entirely funded by Daniel and by the Stoxnet Supporters – members of the Stoxnet community who voluntarily contribute to the website’s running costs.

Stoxnet is hosted by Digital Red, Daniel’s own website development and technical support business.
